Autumn is a busy time on farms and ranches across the USA. Here in the west, ranchers prepare for the coming harsh winter weather by gathering the herds from the high country. This pair of cowboys is about to do just that.
 
My favorite part about painting this piece was playing with thicker paint and broken color, which you will see a bit in the mountains and sky.
