I've spent a lot of time hiking and wandering around the Four Corners states (Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona) enjoying both the landscapes and the region's abundant historical sites. And while I have never come across an undiscovered historical site, I always imagined what it might be like to be the first person to see it in over 800 years. This painting depicts one such imagining.
