Exploring the back roads of the West can really pay off for an artist. One spring day in Wyoming I came across this beautiful roan stallion grazing among a field of wildflowers on a hill. Simply a magical setting for a beautiful animal. In this painting I enjoyed exploring the variety of colors and textures in the carpet of flowers at the feet of this roan stallion.
